Listen to original music
Welcome to marykullmusic.com. Here you will find information about Singer/Songwriter Mary Kull including a bio, show dates, information about her music projects as well as her original electronica/acid jazz band Electrolight. The biographical section contains highlights of Singer/Songwriter Mary Kull's music career. Listeners have described this Singer/Songwriter as soulful, sultry, jazzy, and romantic all delivered with the edginess of contemporary music. Mary Kull blends classic jazz vocals with an electronica dance vibe leaving the listener torn between dancing all night and sipping a martini on the couch. Greg Kretschmar of Greg and the Morning Buzz writes "smooth, a little jazzy, and vocals that draw you into the song. Mary Kull's vocals are Amazing!" Electrolight is an original project featuring Keyboardist/Composer Dan Sure and Singer/Songwriter Mary Kull. Electrolight's music has been described as soulful trip- hop and electronica with elements of jazz, reggae, and R&B. As both a Singer and a Songwriter Kull has been involved in several different musical projects throughout the growth of her career. Current projects such as Rock My Soul, the gospel choir for which Mary is a soloist, can be found on the projects page of this site. Learn more about Mary's collaboration with other singers and songwriters like Aaron Katz and Deirdre Egan in the Bio page. Mary began performing at age 9 and remembers not only aspiring to be a professional Singer/Songwriter but actually writing lyrics and melodies at that early age. The exposure to and love of jazz from childhood prove to be a heavy influence in Mary's work; though the genre and feel of her music changes from song to song (from electronica to reggae, soul to R&B, even disco) her jazz vocal style remains constant. The Singer/Songwriter credits such greats as jazz singer Billie Holiday and gospel singer Mavis Staples as inspiration.
